This Picturesque place it's about an hour and half drive from Hobart. It is worth a visit when visiting Tasmania, with its epic scenery, amazing hiking trails and towering sea cliffs. When coming here you will find something for everyone. You can come here for a day trip from Hobart but it is definitely worth a few nights here to explore more of the Peninsula.
A day at Eaglehawk neck We explored this area and there is a lot too see. We first went to pirate Bay lookout
An amazing view of Eaglehawk neck and pirate Bay definitely worth the stop as you come down the hill.
Tessellated pavement
A natrual rock formation that is completely natrual and was made from the salt consistent waves crashing over the rocks. It is worth a stop and an explore. It is a easy 10 minute walk down with a few steps down to the pavements. Make sure you check the tides before you go, because at low tide you are able to walk over the pavements and at high tide it would be covered by the sea.
Fossil lookout and the blowhole
Is a short walk but beautiful views of the fossil cliffs the walk will take about 10 minute and is a round trip. I think we didn't go at the best time as it was a very calm day I would imagine it would be more spectacular when the waves are crashing and the blow hole has water blowing the out of the rocks.
Devils kitchen and Tasman arch.
About a 15 minute circuit with different lookout points along the way. Soon as you arrive you will walk straight over to the Tasman arch a beautiful rock formation that is shaped like a arch from here you will walk in a circuit towards devils kitchen. Another rock formation that has formed a couple of tunnels with the lookout looking over the cliff
From here you can walk to waterfall Bay past Patterson arch, it is a 1.7km hike with a grade 2 and will take about 1-1.5hours.
Paterson's Arch
There is also the option to drive to the waterfall Bay and its a short walk about 500 meters to Patterson's Arch. I would imagine this place would be amazing with a waterfall dropping over the cliff but I'm assuming as it's summer and hasn't rained too much we didn't see a waterfall but none less it was beautiful scenery and the arch was worth the walk out.

Port Arthur historic site
Is $42 entrance that is valid for 2 consecutive days You can pay an extra $20 per person if you would like to stop by at the isle of dead. Port Arthur housed the toughest of tough criminals in its time and was one of the first penal colonies in Australia and known as a inescapable prison. The historic site is on 40 acres of land and has more than 30 buildings, ruins, heritage gardens and Walking trails. Take advantage of the complimentary 20 minute boat ride or 40 minute introductory tour upon arrival ask at the information desk when the next boat tour is
On the boat ride we were very lucky to see a pot of dolphins!
It's a interesting place to see if your into history also if your not it also its interesting to walk around the grounds. There is a few tours you can do at Port Arthur and the most popular tour is the 1.5 hour ghost tour at night where you are toured around the grounds by a lantern. The tours are on Thursday, Friday and Saturday evenings starting from $30 per person
Canoe Bay
From Fortescue campground there is a number of walks you can do
We did the canoe Bay walk which is a 2 hour 4km return hike there is some steep sections and is rough ground with a few rocks and sticks over the path. You do get spectacular views over the bay and a view of the pillars.

I would recommend this walk if your around Port Arthur or you are camping here. You can extend this walk to bivouac bay which is a 3 hour return and 10 km long. This trail is also connected to Tasman coastal trail which is 8 km one way and a 8 hour hike.
Cape Huay
A beautiful walk with awe inspiring cliffs. The Cape itself has columns that plunge into the sea, This hike is 9.4km and a 4 hour return walk.
It was a epic hike and we'll worth it although we did it in not so good weather and it was very windy but it still had amazing views

The track Is a well maintained track but has many stairs and a few steep sections reasonable fitness level required. This track is part of the 3 day and 4 night hike following the three Cape track
Where to stay
There are numerous campsites in Port Arthur we stayed at Fortescue campground in Tasman National Park a very nice campsite right near the beach. It has got toilet facilities and hot showers for $2 for 4 minutes.
